July 12 - Midnight 7's - Pier 40

July 19 - Princeton 7's NRU Finals

July 23rd - ELV discussion with referees/coaches (venue TBA)

July 27th - Level 1 Refereeing , Rob Perle (venue TBA)

July 27th - Level 1 Referee Coaching, Chris Davies, NE (venue TBA)

Aug 11th - ELV discussion with referees/coaches (venue TBA 2nd opportunity)

Aug 23rd - Jersey Shore Tournament (with ELVs)

Aug 31st - NEW re-CIPPing date (IMPORTANT!!!!)

Sept 7th - Pre-Season Clinic (ELV final opportunity)

Note: 3 (THREE!) separate opportunities for coaches to discuss ELVs with refs.

College Match Fee Invoice '07

For those of you who wish to be paid for HS and College games, there *should* be an invoice available on sight for you to fill in and sign.

However, just in case, we are providing an invoice for you to print and take with you to games: RRSNY-MatchFees07.doc

For senior club matches they should simply be able to pay cash or check on the day to you.
Remember - $50 per side (so $100 for A and B) PLUS your travel expenses which should be between $20 and $50.
If your expenses are more than $50 - please contact the RRSNY Treasurer for the amount over $50.

Terms of Service Meeting 2007

To ALL Met Union rugby programs (Clubs/Colleges/HS):

1. The RRSNY Annual Terms of Service meeting will be on Feburary 11th at Xavier HS 1pm - 3pm.

It is mandatory to attend for all rugby programs within the Met Union. Please ensure that you have provided prior to that date/bring with you:

- Spring schedule (if not complete bring it anyway). You can email it to Brad Kleiner (bk.rrsny@yahoo)
- Up to date contact information (Match Secretary/Coach - see attached)
- 2 names of individuals to be your nominated "Program Referee" (who must be minimum Level 1 Certified).
- dues check ($175)

If you cannot provide all this information, provision of referees will be endangered/witheld for the Spring season. Please do your utmost to keep RRSNY properly informed with timely information. Note - all dues are non-negotiable.

A Chronicle of My Rugby Referee Exchange to Leicestershire, UK Or A Rugby Season

Several months ago, Paul said, �you should consider going on an exchange�. Being so lowly a soldier in the army of the New York Refeee Society, I was not really sure if this kind of thing was open to me or what the requirements are. Or if I could swing the time and expense. So of course I said Yes with none of the the previous questions answered.

Next thing I know, Brad is emailing me to work on available dates. Originally this was supposed to be a 10 day trip, two weekends of games and one game mid week. Too long for me, especially if I had down time in the middle. I am launching a new product at work now and time matters. I informed Brad and Paul, figuring they would blow me off as a candidate but instead they suggested I could shorten the trip to 8 days and still get some games in although I would miss the second weekend game. But if things worked our right, I would probable get three games. Sounded good to me and I booked the flight. Now I had a ticket, and little else. I had only one contact name in the UK, no game schedule, not addresses, nothing. Lets go!
