meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m., President Tom
Tani presiding.

Election and Selection of Officers for 2001
The
following officers were duly nominated, seconded, and
elected to the executive committee by a show of hands:
President/Treasurer:

The
following officers were appointed:
Chairman
of Evaluators: T.A. Fitzpatrick
Recruitment Coordinator: Lex Maccubbin

Discussion of Year 2000 Accomplishments
a)
Website. Revamped
in 2000. All
scheduling and notices posted on website for improved
access and efficiency, allowing for termination of
hotline.
b)
Coverage. Over
95% of all matches covered.
Only coverage lapses related to college games,
often due to communication failures on the part of the
college teams.
c)
Recruitment/Training.
Increased active referee base significantly.
Level I and II clinics in spring.
d)
Exchanges. Conducted successful C-panel exchange
program with New York State and New England societies,
as well as valuable B-panel exchange program.
e)
Match Reports/Payment Plan.
Inaugurated well-defined match report system to
facilitate payment plan. Payment plan implemented in
conjunction with Met NY LAU.

a)
Absence of fall training clinics
b)
Concerns regarding referee consistency
c)
Failure by certain clubs to reimburse referees
for travel expenses
d)
Episodes of abuse directed at referees
e)
No referee social function

Goals for 2001
a)
Referee Social Event – 2 February 2001.
Dinner at Mediterranean
Manor, Newark, NJ.
b)
Augment the Website – club links, articles,
etc.
c)
Improve Communication with Clubs – 3 seasonal
meetings will be devoted to referee/club forums.
d)
Level I and II Clinics – spring and fall (USARFU
currently revising curricula).
e)
Increase Number of Evaluators – clinic January
6, 2001 at Merkley Newman Harty, 200 Varick St. (@
Houston St.), NYC
f)
Distribute Fall Match Fees – waiting for
payment from Met NY LAU
g)
Consider Overseas Exchanges – English societies
such as Sussex, London
h)
Continued Commitment to Referee Recruiting –
Vice President to coordinate, introductory information
package to be compiled and perhaps posted on website.

Plan to order new jerseys, warm-ups, golf shirts,
etc. for spring season.

include pre-season briefing.
